I provide cognitive-behavioral therapy on a foundation of Christian principles and practices. Your thoughts are powerful, impacting your emotions, decisions, relationships, and faith. Setting your mind on the things that are true, honorable, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and praiseworthy brings peace in a harsh world (Philippians 4:8, paraphrased).

About
Laura Chilson
I worked for many years in insurance and education. Some life changes placed me at work in a mental health setting, and I had found my career niche! I did my post-graduate work at Liberty University, my practicum, internship, and supervised experience hours at Western Plains Youth and Family Services. There I gained invaluable training and experience with children and adolescents and their families. In fall 2024, I created Grace and Growth Counseling to reach a more diverse population, including adults and couples.

I provide a safe and private environment for you to express your needs and struggles. I will walk alongside you and help as you navigate the circumstances that led you to reach out for help. I use CBT to help you identify the connections between thoughts, emotions and actions.

I endeavor to meet young people at their developmental level. Sessions are active, using games, activities, and art to guide children to make sense of their emotions and their world. Some older adolescents prefer talk therapy, so I adjust to their needs.

Every couple experiences seasons of peace and storms. I strive to be an unbiased help for building (or rebuilding) trust, intimacy, communication, and hope.
